Preparation
1. Clean the substrate and remove any debris and moisture.
2. Ensure substrate is completely dry before moving to the next step.
Installation
1. Apply a base coat of silicone coating onto the substrate at approximately 10 to 15 mils
2. Extend the coating 2” on all sides of the area to receive the fabric.
3. Set the FR 2.00 Polyester Fabric Reinforcer in the wet coating and ensure there are no fish-mouths or wrinkles.
4. It is extremely important to fully saturate the FR 2.00 Polyester Fabric Reinforcer in coating from edge to edge.
5. Apply a finish coat over the FR 2.00 Polyester Fabric Reinforcer at a rate of approximately 20 to 30 mils.
6. Extend the coating past the edge of the fabric to ensure a watertight condition; any exposed fibers will wick moisture into the system.
7. An additional coat of silicone may be required under certain conditions.
Notes
1. It is crucial that all wrinkles and fish mouths be smoothed out during application. If not, the potential for failure is likely.
2. If wrinkles and fish-mouths are present after material is fully cured out, cut out wrinkle or fish-mouth and re-apply the FR 2.00 Polyester Fabric Reinforcer as described above.
